Film Project Mentor: Kinga Burza Q&A

Kinga Burza

Dubbed to be among ‘the next wave of up-and-coming directors’ by Promo magazine Kinga Burza was born in Krakow, Poland and raised in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia before moving to London in 2005 and signing with respected film production company Partizan of Michel Gondry fame in 2006.

Since being in the UK, Kinga has shot videos for M. Craft, The Thrills, The Rakes, The Teenagers, Calvin Harris, pop starlet Kate Nash, Ladyhawke and recent Billboard No. 1 newcomer Katy Perry in L.A.

What was it about the Ctrl.Alt.Shift film project that first compelled you to get involved?

I was attracted to contributing to a charity that was specifically active, creating opportunities for aspiring, young filmmakers.

The issues that Ctrl.Alt.Shift is working to change are hard-hitting, controversial topics. Have you or anyone you know ever been personally affected by any of these issues?

Personally, no, I haven’t. Normally coming from the world of music videos, we are mostly surrounded by fantasy-inspired, fake realities. That said, I am looking forward to an opportunity to brush aside showbiz for a moment and delve deeper into these important topics.
